  • Overview

    Access to safe drinking water is essential for health, wellbeing and workplace safety. This Potable Water Awareness course provides learners with the knowledge needed to recognise contamination risks, understand what makes water safe to drink, and apply good practices that help protect water systems in the workplace. 

    Learners will explore the characteristics of potable water, distinguish between potable and non-potable water and identify common biological, chemical and physical contaminants along with their potential health effects. They will also learn the controls, responsibilities and actions required to help maintain safe drinking practices.

    • Biological contaminants including bacteria, viruses and parasites
    • Chemical and physical contamination hazards
    • Health effects of contaminated water
    • Controls for protecting potable water systems
    • Actions to take if contamination is suspected 
  • Assessment & certification

    This Potable Water Awareness training course ends with a 10-question multiple choice test with a downloadable certificate.

    User certificates, training programmes and results are all stored centrally in your LMS and can be accessed at any time to act as proof of a commitment to ongoing legal compliance.
