Lockout/Tagout Awareness

Unexpected release of energy is one of the leading causes of serious injury and fatalities during maintenance and servicing activities. LOTO is a critical control measure designed to prevent the accidental start-up of machinery or the release of hazardous energy while work is being carried out.

This LOTO Awareness course provides learners with essential knowledge of hazardous energy sources, isolation procedures and the importance of following safe systems of work. By the end of the course, participants will understand why LOTO is necessary, when it must be applied and their role in ensuring equipment is safely isolated before maintenance or repair begins.

This training is suitable for:

• Workers involved in maintenance, servicing or inspection activities

LO9: Explain how LOTO fits within permit-to-work and control of work systems

LO10: Explain the consequences of failing to follow LOTO procedures

This LOTO Awareness training course ends with a 10-question multiple choice test with a downloadable certificate.
