  • Overview

Asbestos remains one of the most dangerous legacy hazards in the workplace. Although its use is now banned in the UK, asbestos-containing materials can still be found in many buildings and structures, particularly those built before 2000. When disturbed, asbestos fibres can be released into the air, posing serious long-term health risks.

This Asbestos Awareness course provides essential knowledge to help learners recognise asbestos-containing materials, understand where asbestos is likely to be found, and know how to work safely to avoid exposure. The course also explains legal responsibilities, health effects, and the correct actions to take if asbestos is suspected or disturbed.
